Job Description
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
§ Develop and gain approval for department policies and procedures ensuring their alignment to overall business objectives. Monitor and control implementation and advice on the policy application to ensure that they are properly communicated and widely understood.
Departmental Reports
§ Ensure the departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
Health, Safety and Environment
§ Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
§ Adherence to world class best practices for safety, health and environmental standards.
Continuous Improvement
§ Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
§ Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department system, processes and practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
People Management
§ Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of Logistics department setting departmental and individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to optimize individual and departmental performance.
§ Actively develop and maintain Succession Plans for the department. Also play an active role as a mentor.

§ Ensure the development of nationals to take on adequate positions should be given special attention.
Quality Management
§ Responsible for the development and implementation of quality management systems and procedures.
§ To filter key points from complex details and develop plans accordingly.
Budget
§ Cost responsibility for Logistics area and to ensure that Logistics operates effectively within their budget.
Plant Logistics
§ Overview, review and interpretation of logistics directives from the plant on both technical and administrative matters pertaining to logistics such as transportation, stock control and warehousing.
Forecasting
§ Review and approve forecasting of stock levels, delivery times and transport costs in order to achieve maximum performance and cost efficiencies.
Goods Distribution
§ Ensure documents and requisition forms for ordering services of the transport agencies to deliver goods from the port of entry of goods to the respective warehouses have reached their destination in a timely manner.
Customs Clearance
§ Ensure that all documents required by port/airport authorities are prepared and submitted correctly and in time so that no consignment is held up leading to demurrage charge being levied.
Vendor Management
§ Maintain different terms of purchase with identified suppliers as well as the standard operating procedures and policies for warehouse, such as temperatures, speed, humidity, sanitation standards, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
§ Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Administration
Minimum Experience
§ 6 - 8 years experience in Logistics
§ 2 years experience in Logistics Management Role
